1. Purpose
This statement sets out Recreo Consilium's approach to modern slavery, human trafficking and respect for human rights within our business and supply chain.
2. Legal status and voluntary commitment
Recreo Consilium is not expected to be legally required to publish a modern slavery statement unless it meets the applicable statutory threshold. This statement is therefore prepared voluntarily as part of the Recreo Standards library.
Our position is straightforward: modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, servitude and exploitation have no place in our business or supply chain.
3. Our business
Recreo Consilium is an Independent Advisory Practice operating in the United Kingdom. Our business model is expected to involve professional advisory services, specialist associates, suppliers, consultants, professional advisers and digital service providers.
4. Our principles
Treat people with dignity and respect.
Conduct business lawfully and ethically.
Avoid knowingly working with organisations involved in exploitation or forced labour.
Consider modern slavery risk proportionately when appointing suppliers, associates or consultants.
Respond seriously to any concern raised.
5. Supply chain and risk
As a professional advisory practice, Recreo's direct modern slavery risk is expected to be relatively low. However, risk can increase where services involve extended supply chains, labour provision, site-based works, overseas suppliers, low-cost procurement or sectors with known labour vulnerability.
Risk should therefore be considered proportionately and in context, particularly where Recreo introduces, recommends or appoints third parties.
6. Due diligence
Recreo should take proportionate steps to understand who it works with. Depending on the nature of the relationship, this may include checking business credentials, reviewing policies, considering reputation, assessing labour practices and seeking confirmation of compliance with applicable laws.
7. Associates and suppliers
Associates, suppliers and consultants representing Recreo should be expected to act lawfully, ethically and consistently with the Recreo Standard. Where appropriate, modern slavery expectations may be included in appointment terms or supplier communications.
8. Training and awareness
As Recreo grows, modern slavery and human rights awareness should be included within wider ethical business training, supplier onboarding and governance reviews.
9. Raising concerns
Any concern relating to modern slavery, forced labour, exploitation or human rights within Recreo's business or supply chain should be raised with a director. Concerns should be reviewed seriously and appropriate action taken.
10. Review and approval
This statement should be reviewed annually. If Recreo becomes legally required to publish an annual modern slavery statement, this document should be updated to meet the applicable statutory requirements and approved at the appropriate level.
